We are a friendly society comprising of local people based in Chislehurst. Our aims include promoting community through social and sporting activities.
Each month we plan interesting and varied activities such as a guided walk around Charterhouse in the city of London, a spring lunch at The Crown, a fish and chip supper with a quiz and a visit to historic Chatham.
It costs just £20 a year to be part the Kent County Society Chislehurst and we welcome new members to join us. If you would like to come along to any of our events, either on your own or with a friend, you will be most welcome. Or if you would like to find out more, please get in touch using our contact page.
The County of Kent, because of its position as gateway to the British Isles, has seen a thousand years of history on its doorstep. Formed over a century ago, today there are 10 branches spread across the County, with His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent as our Patron.
None are more proud of this heritage than our members in the Association of Men Kent and Kentish Men. (The Kent County Society)
Our aims and objectives are to:
Promote community cohesion through social and sporting activities
Encourage good citizenship and a sense of pride in the historic County of Kent
Protect the magnificent heritage of our towns and villages and the beauty of the countryside
Encourage and recognise educational activities in the youth of the county
Maintain a library of county literature and works by Kentish authors and to preserve records of historic and general interest in the county
